Fun Indoors: Nerf Target Practice

Last year for Christmas, every member of our family received Nerf guns (or bow) for Christmas. Every once in a while someone starts a war, and we have lots of fun as a family. Over spring break, I created a way for them to practice shooting since their aim isn't exactly on target.

Nerf target practice is a great rainy day activity. Please note, this is not a sponsored post; I'm just sharing a fun family activity.
Nerf indoor practice.

I used three styrofoam cups. I easily cut a hole in the bottom of the cup using a pair of scissors. I poked and pushed yarn through the hole. After knotting the end, I hung the cups on our sofa table. Two were hung on the drawer knobs and one was taped underneath (using painters tape so as not to damage the table Grandpa made for us).

On top of the table, I placed the cowbell. For those wanting to practice standing, I thought it would be best to have something at a higher level. The bell is sturdy enough that it can't be damaged by flying darts. It also doesn't move easily off the table when hit with a dart. (A styrofoam cup will pop off the table when hit. I tried...)
Then we moved the couch so the children would have more distance between them and the targets. Don't you love that concentration?
We all had lots of fun shooting. To be safe, we had rules.

The rules were that we all began shooting at the same time. We didn't take turns; instead we just shot as we wanted. Then we waited until everyone was done. When all darts were discharged, someone would call out, "Weapons down." Then we could collect the darts.

Our weapons are as follows. (These are Amazon affiliate links.)
Brother, age 6- Nerf N-Strike Elite Triad EX-3 Blaster (3 darts)
Little Sister, age 3- Nerf N-Strike Elite Triad EX-3 Blaster (3 darts)

Little Sister cannot cock her gun by herself, but someone always helps her, even during battle. It is not recommended for a child of her age, but we couldn't leave her out of the fun.

Have you ever enjoyed a fun Nerf battle?
