Weekend Wind-Down {June 6}

Strawberries are ripe in southeastern Pennsylvania.  This week I made easy strawberry jam.  I made my
first pound cake, and could have eaten the whole thing myself. (I'll share the recipe soon.)  Today I'm hoping to make my first strawberry pie as a surprise for my husband.  I called my husband's grandma for the recipe.  Not surprisingly, she doesn't really have a recipe; she just makes it.  Thankfully she was able to tell me how she makes it though it's not a written recipe.  (Should I tell you I don't even like strawberries?  I have issues with the texture...but like them in smoothies.)

This week on the blog I shared a thank you letter for teachers, countdown to summer printable, and a summer reading challenge.  Of course you notice the theme.  Brother completed school...and I'm gearing up for summer even if Big Sister has another two full weeks remaining.  For variety, I also shared a 3 minute baked ravioli.

As you relax this weekend, explore the Weekend Wind-Down Party.  Lots of great bloggers join us each week.  Meet and follow the hosts and be sure to link to us so you can be featured and pinned.

  1. Our strawberries look like they'll be ripe in about a week. I've never made a strawberry pie...maybe this summer :)
