The Story of Christmas Giveaway

We find little ways to celebrate Christmas daily in December.  (Linked to a bunch of simple, doable ideas.)  One of those ways is by reading a picture book related to Christmas each day of the month.
This year, we are adding another book to our Christmas basket, and one reader will win a Christmas book, too!  Thank you for Tommy Nelson for providing us with The Story of Christmas for review purposes!

The Story of Christmas, Thomas NelsonThe Story of Christmas is a cute padded board book.  More than that, it tells the story of Jesus' birth.

The text of the book tells the story we know so well in  rhyme.  Too many Christmas books tell of an inaccurate (according to the Bible...the original source) Christmas.  I appreciate this book's accurate retelling (with some fictional possible conversation).  Though it is a in the format of a board book, it's not just for babies and toddlers.  It begins with the angel Gabriel coming to Mary and then to Joseph.  Next it explains why Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem.  It proceeds in typical fashion.  I appreciated that when the wise men find Jesus, it is obvious from the illustration that they are no longer in the stable (though Jesus does still appear as a baby-though with much more hair than in the stable).
"Jesus grew up to be an amazing, perfect man.  He died for our sins, as had always been God's plan."
As you can see, this board book also has a carrying handle, something young children definitely enjoy!  You can get a good taste for The Story of Christmas by looking at the flipbook.

  1. We always get dressed up and go to Christmas eve service and then have dinner. After that we let the kiddos open 1 gift before bed! zippinviolet01@gmail.com

  2. What a fun sounding book. I like that it's Biblically accurate. We're still establishing Christmas traditions. We usually open a present on Christmas Eve, the rest on Christmas morning. We have a repeat of Thanksgiving dinner simply because we enjoy the Tofurkey so much. ;) No Christmas tree planned this year but we hope to have one next year after our daughter's adoption is finalized!
