Friday Favorite Five #7

1. Big Sis's thoughtfulness for others.  When writing her Valentine's Day cards for preschool, without prompting, she made ones for her immediate family (and even spelled Little Sis's name correctly).  She also wrote one for a cousin.  (Too bad I have not mailed it yet...)

2. My pants need a belt.  Or they need to be constantly yanked back into place.  But that's good, I think.  (Right before I got pregnant last year I had lost nearly ten pounds.  I'm very close to that weight.  I never did buy new pants, but maybe someday I will.  Until then, I have to remember the belt!  My face may be a bit thinner, but my shape has not changed.)

3. A low-key Valentine's Day, but still sweet.  Most of our ♥ Day centered on food.  I made fettuccine Alfredo and heart-shaped apples for the family.  Derek and I gave each other homemade cards.  He even made cards for the kids!  The kids made a heart-shaped bear and rabbit.
4. Slowly finding time to clean my house...mostly in just a few minutes at a time.   A clean shower is a clean shower...and a rarity in this home.  I'm working on a project to gather some of our paper piles, too.

5. A friend asking to come over.  Actually, this friend has been an acquaintance through church since we first began going in 2003.  We've always been friendly, but I loved that she asked if she could come visit.  We had a lovely visit, just the two of us (and Big Sis occasionally) during rest time.  It makes me think of these verses from Titus chapter two.
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
