Counting the blessings every day, today I am counting them as Friday Fave Five!
1. A healthy baby. Our nephew arrived safe and sound at less than 35 weeks, for which we are grateful. Any longer and the risk (for his life) would have been too great. That is the simple story, but we really see God's providence in his safe arrival. We are hoping he can leave the NICU this weekend.
2. A rare visit. My mom, stepdad, older sister, and nephew visited us this past weekend. It was a really short, overnight visit, but good.
3. My children. They are each growing up and have such unique personalities! Big Sister has matured so much this past year and doesn't cry so easily. Brother loves to be goofy and to love. Without being taught he even knows our (ten digit) phone number! Little Sister is walking a bit and trying to figure out how everything works. She really wants to be able to buckle her car seat herself! She has learned to ask for "more" (with signs) for a variety of things like food, books, and singing...even MY singing. Each of them makes this mom proud.
4. A phone call from teacher. Big Sister's teacher called to discuss her reading evaluation. We will learn more about accommodations soon. (She reads well above the kindergarten level.) I'm thankful she took the time to call instead of just sending a note.
5. Big Sister's birthday. My firstborn is now six years old. WOW. It is hard to believe that six years have passed. We had a small family celebration and tomorrow is her Little House party with five friends. I hope by the time you read this my sewing is 100% complete for the party!
I link up my blessings over at Living to Tell the Story. What has been the best part of your week?
