Clutter Update

We've been digging out from under the rubble of clutter since Christmas. Things have slowed down, but I'm still plugging away when I can.
Clutter quote by Peter Walsh
The best part is that my thinking has changed. What comes into my home...What goes out.. How clutter crowds out Jesus...

(Actually, if the weather cooperates, I'll be giving a talk on that last topic on Thursday with my local Community Bible Study. I will share here on the blog at a later time.)

You know I love the book Clutter Free by Kathi Lipp (linked to my review). She got me moving in the right direction. I just listened to the book It's All Too Much by Peter Walsh (affiliate link). It's very different from Clutter Free because he is an organizer by profession. He's a lot more ruthless when it comes to clutter, but I really appreciated learning from him, too. This clutter quote really resonated with me so I wanted to share it.

Remember the clutter printables I made? The one for my kids has been a big hit. Big Sister has completed her first 100 items! I suspect about 75 of them were trash, but it still counts! I even told her (and Brother) that for the second 100 clutter items they would be paid a nickel for each item.

The blog will be quiet this week. I've been sick. My youngest has been sick with a bit of everything this past week, but the latest is a double ear infection.

  1. I love that quote from Peter Walsh too! Actually anything from Peter Walsh :) Those kids' decluttering printables are great! I'm going to get my kids using them... they like competing with each other so maybe I'll make it a competition. Hope you're all feeling better soon. Great job decluttering!

  2. I love the Goodwill (I upcycled in my Etsy shop, so it's work!) My rule this year is that I have to drop off a box before I go in to shop. I've gotten rid of several boxes, and I don't make as many trips because I don't have time to get a box together LOL

I hope your little one feels better soon <3

  3. That quote IS wonderful.

Glad you are still making some progress. It feels good, doesn't it? I recently did another "purging session" and got more things packed off and away to Goodwill. We also Craigslisted off some big, bulky, unwanted items so that's been nice too. It feels nice to breathe!
