Rainbow Yogurt

I thrilled my children recently with rainbow yogurt. It's easy to whip up this edible rainbow for a dessert or snack. To make your own rainbow, you night begin with a vanilla flavor...so good...or mix and match flavors like we did.  Either way, an edible, healthy rainbow is sure to be a hit.
Edible Rainbow Yogurt in a Cup
Using approximately one container of yogurt per person, divide the yogurt among six bowls (or seven bowls if you want to distinguish between blue and indigo). Add a small amount of food coloring to add color, if needed. Repeat to make the colors of the rainbow.

Add a spoon to each bowl. Remind the children of Roy G. Biv...the acronym to remember the colors of the rainbow. Yogurt in bowls to make a rainbow.
Provide a clear cup or bowl to each of the children. Instruct them to place a spoonful or more of each color into their cup. Use the back of the spoon to spread the yogurt in layers.  Assist younger children.

My own children immediately swirled and mixed their rainbow, so if I were to do it again, I would use one flavor for the rainbow yogurt snack.
What's your favorite healthy snack? Do you ever make it fun?

  3. I let my kids dump sprinkles in their yogurt. They gobble it up like ice cream.
