Clutter-Free Progress

This afternoon I had counted more than 600 items of stuff that will leave our home through donation, trash bags, or recycling bins. That's exciting!
This was a week ago! I have three columns filled now!

(Oh, if it's bitter cold outside and your house isn't warming well, spend an hour in your basement cleaning. When you return to the regular living areas, the house will feel toasty-warm...even if it isn't.)

I have a giant pile of STUFF in our basement ready to go. Unfortunately, I have to tell them how many bags and boxes I have in order to schedule a pick-up. I'm tempted to count them up and add a few more boxes since the next pick-up date is in two weeks.

You know I liked Kathi Lipp's book called Clutter Free. (Linked to my review.) I finished it and highly recommend it for those motivated to make big changes.

Quite honestly, I think one of the things I am really rethinking is my need to be content. I thought I was pretty content before, but the more I think about it, the more I see discontentment.

I'm keeping track of my decluttering progress on my clutter-free printable. I made a different one for my children, also available at that link.

Kathi Lipp asked me to guest post on her blog showing a bit of my progress. You can view my post and progress here. (I must say it was fun to write the post knowing it would be seen by so many people!)

  3. Yay! What a great challenge - 2000 is certainly an inspiring goal and you have made serious progress in such a short time! Decluttering has been a multi-year process for me...that sounds a bit pathetic, but it has become a mindset to always be on the look out for unnecessary (for us) items which could be used by another or just need to go.
