Weekly Wrap-Up

It's Friday already! Whew.

My week was busy. Maybe a bit busier than I'd like, but not overwhelming. Here are a few of the blessings this week.
1. Friends. I went to a friend's home for a nice visit. I spent some time on the phone with a friend having a hard week. And tonight I'll be getting together with three of my closest friends. In these busy days, it's harder for us to all get together, so it will be a rare treat. I think we all need it, too. It's been many, many months.

2. Two nights. Two nights in a row Little Sister slept through the night...or more likely just didn't come into our room. She wakes up and sneaks into our room during the night and sleeps (or not) on our floor. Little Sister is now THREE. If you are a long-time reader, you know she has always had problems sleeping. I haven't had a week of decent sleep since before I was pregnant with her. Though she doesn't talk when she comes into our room, I am an extremely light sleeper.

3. Slow cleaning. Slowly I've been cleaning the house. Did you see the post about how the "cleaning lady" came in her pajamas? Some days I just have to laugh at myself. There is little I can do without Little Sister's assistance.

4. CBS. I really appreciate Community Bible Study.

5. Leftovers. We ate a roasted chicken a few days (once with dumplings). I also doubled my meatloaf recipe so we could have it two nights this week. Leftovers make life so much easier!

I'm gearing up for 19 people for Thanksgiving. All but the five of us are coming from out of town. Some will sleep here and the rest will stay at a hotel, but we'll have the whole day together.

I'm also thinking about Christmas and thinking of continuing the Less-Stressed Christmas series. Have you seen Minted's art collection?  I would certainly love a gift like this. Consider checking them out for photo gifts, stationary, and art.
This week I didn't blog much. Just a recipe tip and my cleaning lady post.

What have you been up to? Even if you are having a difficult week, I hope you'll find blessings in it. I'm linking up with Susan at Friday Fave Five.

Disclosure: I will be provided a product for sharing about Minted.

  3. It is hard to get together with friends. I've had a lunch date planned with one friend that we have had to reschedule twice already due to various circumstances. But hopefully one day we'll make it! Glad you've had some time with friends this week.

We don't often have enough leftover for an entire second meal, but we use leftovers for lunch a lot. Sometimes I have "smorgasbord night" if we have parts of several leftovers but not enough for a meal - I warm them all up and everyone can chose which they want. Makes for an easy night in the kitchen plus gets some containers out of the fridge.

  4. Yay for leftoverss :) and your daughter who keeps waking up at night sounds like my youngest. She did this every.single.night. for the first 7 years of her life. She stopped the week she turned 7. We finally discovered, at about age 4, that her primary love language is physical touch (and acts of service) so in the middle of the night she just needed a hug and someone to find her blankie which was often at the bottom of her bed. Whew...so glad she outgrew that waking up even though those love languages are still her primary ones :) Good luck

  6. Oh, for your sake I definitely hope that Little Sister's new sleeping arrangements are not just a fluke but that you are on track to have regular nights of good, solid sleep!! Wouldn't that be lovely!?

  7. I need to be doing some cleaning too--may I borrow your cleaning lady? I don't care if she comes in her pjs!
I remember the sleepless years---hopefully your little one will sleep better soon.
    Happy Thanksgiving!
