LunchBlox Sandwich Kit

Because my husband and I attempt to be frugal in our spending, we pack lunches for work and school.  Years ago, we bought a reusable sandwich container to save us from using plastic baggies.  This works well for my husband since he has a refrigerator in his office.  School children don't have a refrigerator...

When I was offered the LunchBlox Sandwich Kit for review from Rubbermaid, I was really excited.   I still am!  We already store our leftovers in Rubbermaid containers, so we know they will last.  I like it for several reasons.

First, it's reusable.  When you pack lunch daily, reusable containers are a must, in my opinion to save waste and money.  The LunchBlox containers interlock with one another, in a few different configurations.  My favorite part is the blue ice block which also snaps in place.  You can place the ice block wherever you like, too.  I really like that the seals are tight.  I tested yogurt and everything stayed in place!

There are a few other things you might like to know.  As expected, it's BPA-free, and dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe.  Everything is well sized.  The sandwich container is supposed to hold  standard and specialty (I haven't tested this yet) breads.

The LunchBlox comes with four containers, plus the interlocking ice block: 1 sandwich, 1 side, and 2 snacks.  I like that it will fit in any lunch bag, too.

Before sending my daughter off to school with this, I wanted to make sure she could open all of the containers.  The snack containers were a bit tight for her to open without a mess for liquids.  I know this now, and will use them just for dry foods for now.  I really like that her sandwich will stay cold until her lunch time.

In case your needs are a bit different...Rubbermaid also offers LunchBlox Entree and LunchBlox Salad containers.  I thank Rubbermaid for sending me the LunchBlox for review purposes and look forward to packing my daughter's lunches in it!  If you are interested, you can get a $1.50 coupon here.

Thank you, Rubbermaid, for sending us LunchBlox for review purposes.  All opinions are my own!

  1. You know - I saw these in the store and I thought they were SO cool! We don't pack lunches so i couldn't come up with an immediate need for this BUT I did think it a very clever idea! It's good to know you like it. Fun to see your review after I had been examining it in the store and wondering about it.
